Welcome!

Hello reader!

After over a decade of failed diets and looming health problems, I have decided to get to the bottom of these issues and figure out what type of nutrition fits my body.

It can be quite difficult to find your way through the jungle, as there is so much contradictory information on- and offline. But every body functions differently and I believe the key is finding out what works for your own. I discovered that I have a gluten and a (mild) lactose intolerance, also my doctor brought to my attention that I was eating way too much sugar (even though I was following the "traditional" pyramid). Hence, I decided to make a drastic change.

After some research, I decided to switch to a low-carb diet (I try to eat less than 50g of net carbs per day), inspired by paleo (although I am still consuming some amounts of milk products). My main goal is to eat healthy and feel good - and the positive changes I have experienced within just the first week after changing my diet are stunning; no more back and joint aches, clearer thinking, better concentration, fewer mood swings and much better overall mood, tons of more energy, just to name a few. I would have never thought that removing high-carb foods would make such a big difference.

I work full time; I don't always have time to cook and even if I do, I don't always feel like making complex dishes. I want to have a healthy but effortless breakfast that I can take with me to work. I cook abundant meals two or three nights a week, and freeze leftovers in plastic food containers for my lunch breaks during the week. I like to cook; so often, I experiment on the weekends. One thing is sure though: I don't like complex recipes, and I don't like to use rare ingredients which I'll only use once in a blue moon. This website is meant to be an inspiration for everyone who has the very common daily dilemma: what am I gonna cook today?

Buon appetito!
